Kreis Leads Mount Everett Past Lee in Opener

SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Jacob Kreis went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs in a two-out first-inning rally that sent the Mount Everett baseball team on to a 9-3 win over Lee on opening day on Tuesday.
 
The five-run first for the Eagles wiped out a 2-0 deficit. Mount Everett went on to add runs in the second and third to go ahead, 8-3.
 
Kreis ended up with three RBIs on the day. Heyden Cutlip tripled and Sean Warren doubled in a seven-hit attack for Mount Everett.
 
Michael Ullrich struck out eight in four innings of scoreless relief to earn the win on the mound.
 
Jake Bianco led Lee’s offense with a 2-for-4 day at the plate.
 
The Wildcats (0-1) go to Drury on Thursday.
 
Mount Everett (1-0) hosts McCann Tech on Wednesday.
