Taconic Baseball Falls to West Springfield
PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Matthew Ashe hit a three-run triple in a six-run third inning Monday to propel the West Springfield baseball team to a 9-6 win over Taconic.
After the Thunder went up, 4-0, after two innings, the Terriers’ big third inning gave them the lead, which they padded with two more in the top of the fourth to go ahead, 8-4.
Quentin Christopher and Ed Ferris led Taconic’s offense, each going 3-for-4 with a double.
Chase Wendling took the loss on the mound, allowing six runs but just one earned run in three innings of work. Connor Paronto and Evan Roccabruna finished up on the hill.
Taconic (8-7) goes to Pope Francis on Wednesday.
