PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Colby Robb threw a complete-game two-hitter Thursday to lead the Wahconah baseball team to a 2-0 win over Taconic in the semi-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class B Tournament.

Robb struck out one and walked none for sixth-seeded Wahconah (13-7), which moves on to face No. 1 Pittsfield in the regional final on Tuesday at Wahconah Park. The Generals on Thursday beat Hampshire Regional, 15-3, on the other side of the bracket.

Wahconah broke a scoreless tie in the top of the third.

Braedyn Melle singled with one out and went to second on an error.

James Rabuse brought him home with an RBI single to left to make it 1-0.

That is where it stayed until the top of the seventh. That is when Robb drew a leadoff walk. He was replaced by courtesy runner Evan Alfonso, who got into scoring position on Luke Ferguson’s sacrifice bunt.

Tyler Dostie singled to center to drive in Alfonso and give Robb some breathing room for the bottom of the seventh.

Eddie Ferris singled with one out for Taconic, and Christian Salzarulo doubled to put runners at the corners with one out.

But Robb got the next hitter to pop up and ended the game with a line drive to center caught by Ryan Marauszwski.

Melle went 2-for-3 with a walk to lead Wahconah, which got just four hits against Taconic pitchers Quentin Christopher and Connor Paronto.

Taconic waits to learn who it will face in the first round of next week’s state tournament.
