Millbury Tops Monument Mountain in D4 State Tourney

MILLBURY, Mass. – Jimmer Donnelly struck out 11 and scattered three hits in a complete-game effort Thursday as the Millbury baseball team beat Monument Mountain, 9-0, in the Division 4 State Tournament.
 
Nolan Orzeckowski hit a two-run triple to give the fifth-seeded Woolies a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third, and the hosts never looked back.
 
Dom Velasco, Jack Bissaillon and Liam Smith each had a hit for the Spartans.
 
Gus Luf and Bissaillon split time on the mound for Monument Mountain, combining to allow four earned runs.
 
The Spartans finish the season with a record of 14-8.
