Pittsfield Baseball Blanks Chicopee

CHICOPEE, Mass. – Jake Duquette and Simon Mele each went 2-for-3 with a double on Tuesday to lead the Pittsfield baseball team to a 10-0 win over Chicopee.
 
Jack Reed, Jackson Almeida and Nick Brindle also doubled in a 10-hit attack for the Generals, who put the game away with a four-run sixth inning.
 
Morrie Fried and Reed each drove in a pair of runs.
 
“The boys played well today,” Pittsfield coach Drew Pierce said. “[Cam] Harrington set the tone on the mound.”
 
Harrington went four innings and struck out five. Frieri and Camden Zerbato each pitched an inning of scoreless relief.
 
Pittsfield (1-1) hosts Belchertown on Thursday.
