Fried Homers Twice for Pittsfield in Win over Belchertown

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Morrie Fried went 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double and five runs batted in Saturday to lead the Pittsfield baseball team to a 12-4 win over Belchertown.
 
“Good bounceback game for our team,” said Generals coach Drew Pearce, whose team dropped a decision to rival Taconic on Thursday.
 
On Saturday, Jack Reed went 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Nick Bridle was 2-for-3 in a 13-hit attack for Pittsfield.
 
Roshan Warriar earned the win on the mound, allowing four runs but just one earned run before giving the ball to Cam Zerbato, who threw four innings of scoreless relief.
 
Pittsfield (5-4) hosts Pope Francis on Monday.
