Pittsfield Blasts Hampshire in Western Mass Semis

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Morrie Fried went 4-for-4 with a home run and seven RBIs Thursday to lead the top-seeded Pittsfield baseball team to a 15-3 win over Hampshire Regional in the semi-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class B Tournament.
 
Pittsfield (15-5) advances to the regional final to face Wahconah, a 2-0 winner over Taconic on Thursday. That championship game is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at Wahconah Park.
 
Ben Jacob went 3-for-4 and drove in four runs in a 12-hit attack for Pittsfield on Thursday.
 
Jack Abel was 2-for-3 at the plate and scored three runs in the win.
 
Cam Hillard struck out four and walked one in a complete-game, five-inning win on the mound. He allowed just two earned runs.
