SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Ryan O’Leary went 2-for-3 and hit a go-ahead RBI triple in the bottom of the sixth Friday to lead the Pope Francis baseball team to a 12-8 win over Pittsfield.

The game was tied, 8-8, after Pittsfield scored a run in the top of the sixth.

But O’Leary’s RBI ignited a four-run rally for the Cardinals.

Cam Sime went 3-for-3 with a double and a pair of RBIs to lead Pittsfield, which got two hits from Tommy Mullin.

Pittsfield used five different pitchers in the loss. Ben Cornish started and went 3-⅔ innings on the hill.

The Generals (7-8) go to Dalton on Saturday to finish a game against Wahconah that was interrupted by rain in April.
