DALTON, Mass. -- Trevor Crawford scored five goals, and the Pope Francis boys lacrosse team outscored Wahconah, 5-2, in the fourth quarter to earn an 11-8 win on Friday.

Brian Wiles had a hat trick for the Cardinals.

“It was a great game to get ready for the post-season as it exposed some of our weaker points that we need to work on,” Wahconah coach Zach Sondrini said. “You learn more from a loss like this. Pope Francis has three amazing players that we had some mental lapses on. We knew their tendencies and what they were trying to do but we just couldn't execute defensively to stop them.”

Dart Jaggi scored four goals, and Connor Washburn had a goal and three assists for Wahconah, which got 10 saves from Vinnie Orlandi.

Wahconah (11-4) saw an eight-game winning streak come to an end and will try to get back in the win column on Saturday afternoon when it hosts Chicopee Comp.
