SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Mitchel Manning scored nine goals, and Hunter Christman made two saves Friday to lead the Pittsfield boys lacrosse team to an 18-0 win over Springfield Central.

“Hunter Christman became just the second goalie in franchise history to record a shutout,” said Pittsfield coach J. Noah Tullock, who accomplished the feat as a student-athlete at the school in 2012. “I’m really proud of this kid, he works hard everyday and I couldn't be more happy to have him get that 0.”

Geoff Pensivy, Cameron Laferriere and Jake Salvie each scored a pair of goals.

“Jackson Jezewski went 100% at the faceoff X to keep the ball in Pittsfield sticks all game,” Tullock said.

Pittsfield (12-3) figures to be home in the Western Massachusetts tournament semi-finals next week at Berkshire Community College.
