Short-Handed Hoosac Valley Wins at Hoosick Falls, N.Y.

HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- Alie Mendel scored nine goals Friday to lead the Hoosac Valley girls lacrosse team to a19-9 win over Hoosick Falls.
 
"Both teams were down in numbers due to school vacation," Hoosac Valley coach Molly Meczywor said. "We had many players out of their normal positions, including Claudia Bresett, Brooke DiGennaro and Kelsey Bulson, who proved to be instrumental throughout the game."
 
Bresett scored five times and set up four goals. DiGennaro scored four goals.
 
Emily Godfrey made seven saves to earn the win in goal.
 
Hoosac Valley (3-0) hosts Lee on Monday.
