Hoosac Valley Girls Celebrate Davis' Milestone, Qualify for State Tourney

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Hoosac Valley's Lauren Davis scored a goal and assisted on too more as the Hurricanes celebrated her reaching the 100-point plateau for her career with a 15-6 win over Pittsfield on Friday.
 
"Friday was a special day as we were able to celebrate Lauren Davis becoming a member of the 100-point club and we qualified for the tournament with eight wins," Hoosac Valley coach Molly Meczywor said. "This group is special. They continue to work hard and support each other."
 
Emma Meczywor scored seven goals and had three assists.
 
Ashlyn Lesure scored four times, and Jacinta Felix had a hat trick.
 
Kennedy Whitely made three saves to earn the win in goal.
 
Julianna Kashin had a hat trick for the Generals, who got a goal apiece from Alyssa Potvin, Britain Sadowy and Riley Steinman.
 
Hoosac Valley (8-1) goes to Springfield Central on Monday.
 
Pittsfield is at Monson on Tuesday.
