GRANBY, Mass. -- Gabby Walz and Ari Klekotka each scored seven goals Tuesday to lead the Granby girls lacrosse team to a 19-8 win over Hoosac Valley in the semi-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class C tournament.

Jacinta Felix and Emma Meczywor each had a hat trick for the Hurricanes, Meczywor added two assists, and Sam Loholdt and Karyssa Charon each scored a goal.

"Granby scored four quick goals, but we did settle in for the rest of the half," Hoosac Valley coach Molly Meczywor said. "We continued to push offensively, but their transition was just too quick for us in the middle third.

"We were short a few players so a major shoutout to our girls for playing an entire game and never giving up. It's been our theme all year."

Kennedy Whitely made nine saves for Hoosac Valley (12-4), which awaits word of its seed for the upcoming state tournament.

Granby moves on to face top-seeded Mount Greylock in the Class C title game.
