Hoosac Valley Girls Lacrosse Falls in State Tournament

MALDEN, Mass. -- Kaelen Beardsley scored seven goals Tuesday to lead the Malden Catholic girls lacrosse team to a 21-10 win over Hoosac Valley in the preliminary round of the Division 3 State Tournament.
 
Emma Meczywor had a hat trick and set up two goals, and Ashlyn Lesure finished with two goals and three assists.
 
Lauren Davis and Jacinta Felix each scored twice, and Karyssa Charon added a goal.
 
Kennedy Whitely made nine saves for the 35th-seeded Hurricanes, who finished with a record of 12-5.
 
"While a disappointing end to the season, we had an overall positive season and looking forward to our younger players returning as the future is bright," Hoosac Valley coach Molly Meczywor said. "Senior captain Kayrssa Charon was a pillar in this program and she will be missed."
