Lesure Hits Another Milestone in Hurricanes' Win

CHESHIRE, Mass. – Maryn Cappiello scored six goals, and Ashlyn Lesure went over the 400-point mark for her high school career as the Hoosac Valley girls lacrosse team beat Chicopee Comprehensive, 18-9, on Tuesday.
 
“Today was our Senior Day and every senior scored,” Hoosac Valley coach Molly West said. “It was a wonderful day celebrating our seniors and their contributions towards our program. Second, Ashlyn Lesure broke the 400-point mark and sits at 402 points for her career.
 
“Last, everyone played and contributed in some way. As a team, we are playing really well and our energy/team chemistry is fantastic. Our defense was outstanding today and their ability to transition to offense has been instrumental.”
 
Lesure and Molly Meczywor each scored four goals, Jacinta Felix had a hat trick, and Reagan Shea finished with one goal and two assists.
 
Camron Lovato and Kennedy Whitley split time in Hoosac Valley’s goal, combining to make nine saves.
 
The Hurricanes (11-2) host Pope Francis on Thursday.
