Wahconah Advances to Sweet 16

DALTON, Mass. – Brooke Harrington Wednesday scored four goals to lead the Wahconah girls lacrosse team to a 13-3 win over Hopedale in the first round of the Division 4 State Tournament.

 

Anna Doyle and Mia Thomas each finished with two goals and two assists, and Gianna Heilbroun scored twice in the win.

 

“We talked about how important each minute of the game is,” Wahconah coach Kathy Budaj said. “Our defense did an amazing job causing turnovers and then getting it up to the offense to finish.”

 

Mya Lee stopped seven shots to earn the win in goal.

 

Eleventh-seeded Wahconah (17-2) advances to face No. 6 Manchester Essex in the Round of 16.
