Hornets Bounce Back, Edge Monument Mountain
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Emma LeMire struck out five and allowed one earned run Saturday as the McCann Tech softball team bounced back from its first loss of the spring with a 5-4, come-from-behind win over Monument Mountain.
LeMire went the distance in the circle and led the Hornets offensively, going 2-for-3 with a double.
Avery Lane and Shaylee Lawson each drove in a run, and Maggie Wohrle and Aiden Champney each had a hit and scored a run.
McCann Tech trailed, 3-0, going to the bottom of the third but got two runs in the third and one in the fourth to tie it.
The Spartans then took a 4-3 lead before McCann Tech pushed across two runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Ember Raifstanger went 2-for-4 with a triple and a double, and Gianna Beacco was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two runs batted in to pace Monument Mountain.
Andrea Paul struck out seven and allowed just two earned runs in a complete-game loss in the circle.
Monument Mountain (4-7) goes to Wahconah on Monday.
McCann Tech (10-1) is home against Drury on Tuesday.
