McCann Tech Advances to Western Mass Semis

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Aiden Champney went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and seven runs batted in on Tuesday to lead the McCann Tech softball team to a 19-2 win over Mahar in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class C Tournament.
 
Nora Kondel was 2-for-2 at the plate with three RBIs, and Avery Lane had a pair of hits in a 12-hit attack for the Hornets.
 
Lane also earned the win in the circle with four innings of work in the five-inning game. She struck out 10 and walked two. Emma LeMire also provided an inning of pitching, striking out three without allowing a run.
 
Top-seeded McCann Tech (15-1) hosts Franklin Tech on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the regional semi-finals.
