Central Softball Rallies Past Mount Everett

SPRINGFIELD, Masss. – Dyanna Johnson drove in a run in the bottom of the seventh to complete a five-run comeback for Springfield Central that handed the Mount Everett softball team a 6-5 season-opening loss on Tuesday.
 
Hudah Ngoy Nkulu doubled in a run for Mount Everett, which built a 5-0 lead over the first four innings.
 
The Golden Eagles came back with a four-run rally in the fifth, which started with a leadoff triple by Precious Daniels.
 
Mariah Broderick struck out seven in the circle for Mount Everett.
 
“We had our chances today and will just need to limit some of those mistakes in the field and on the bases,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “For our first time out though the girls played well and know they are capable of putting a complete game together the next time we step on the diamond.”
 
The Eagles (0-1) go to Monument Mountain on Thursday.
