Fosser Helps Monument Softball Outslug Mount Everett

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Grace Fosser went 3-for-3 with a double and a pair of RBIs Saturday to lead the Monument Mountain softball team to a 17-12 win over Mount Everett.
 
Mia Wade went 2-for-5 with a triple, and Elee Hull was 2-for-4 with a triple in a 17-hit Spartan attack.
 
Alex Tenney went 4-for-5, scored four times and made a big play in center for the hosts.
 
“It was a big day for both teams at the plate, and defenses were definitely challenged,” Monument Mountain coach Jamie Downer said. :Overall, it was a good match up and a fun, competitive game.”
 
Mariah Broderick had a pair of doubles, and Makayla Carpenter went 3-for-5 with a double for the Eagles, who also got three stolen bases from Julia Devoti.
 
Meg Dupont earned the win in the circle for the Spartans, striking out three without allowing a walk.
 
Monument Mountain (6-2) goes to Lenox on Monday.
 
Mount Everett (3-7) is at Ware on Tuesday.
