Late Rally Lifts Thunder into Semis

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Ella Stodden drove in a run in a two-run fifth-inning rally Tuesday as the Taconic softball team earned a 6-4 win over Frontier in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class C tournament.
 
Rylee Paronto started the winning rally with a leadoff single, and Julia Pierce followed with a hit. Both ended up scoring runs.
 
Taconic bounced back after Frontier took leads of 3-0 in the top of the first and 4-2 in the top of the second.
 
Pierce ended up going 2-for-3 at the plate and scored twice.
 
Paronto went the distance in the circle, striking out six.
 
Second-seeded Taconic (13-6) moves on to host Mount Greylock on Friday in the regional semi-finals.
