Wright Hits Milestone in Hurricanes' Tourney Opener

ADAMS, Mass. – Gracelyn Wright struck out five hitters, including the 300th K of her high school career, to lead the Hoosac Valley softball team to a 13-1 win over Pioneer Valley on Wednesday in the Western Massachusetts Class D Quarter-Finals.

 

Gianna Witek went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for the Hurricanes, who took advantage of four Pioneer Valley errors in the six-inning win.

 

Genevieve Lagess doubled, and Ella Bissaillon went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

 

Second-seeded Hoosac Valley (17-2) advances to the regional semi-finals to meet Hopkins Academy, a 7-2 winner over Granby on Wednesday.
