Tart Homers Twice as Canes Down Wahconah

ADAMS, Mass. – Izabela Tart homered twice, and the Hoosac Valley softball team rallied for six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to earn a 15-11 win over Wahconah in a battle of unbeatens on Monday afternoon.
 
Tart finished the day 4-for-4 with five RBIs.
 
Rachael Wnuk doubled in a run and scored a run in the decisive sixth-inning rally, which gave the Hurricanes a 15-8 lead.
 
Wnuk went 4-for-4 with three doubles and three RBIs in a 17-hit attack for Hoosac Valley.
 
Gracelyn Wright went 4-for-5 with a triple, and Gianna Witek was 2-for-5 with a double.
 
Wright earned the win in the circle, striking out six.
 
Kenadi Arnhold led Wahconah at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles and four RBIs. Madison McCarthy was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs batted in, and Harper Keay was 2-for-3 with a double.
 
Keay and Marlee Arnhold handled the pitching for Wahconah (3-1), which hosts Greenfield on Wednesday.
 
Hoosac Valley (5-0) goes to Taconic on Tuesday.
