Wnuk, Lagess Lead Hoosac Valley Past Spartans

ADAMS, Mass. – Genevieve Lagess and Rachael Wnuk each went 3-for-5 with a home run and a double Thursday to lead the Hoosac Valley softball team to an 18-5 win over Monument Mountain.

 

Hannah Lord went 3-for-4 with a homer and four runs batted in.

 

Gianna Witek was 3-for-5 with a double, and Izzy Tart went 3-for-5 in a 19-hit Hurricane attack.

 

Gracelyn Wright went the distance in the circle, striking out four and allowing four earned runs.

 

Andrea Paul led the Monument Mountain offense, going 3-for-4 with a homer and a double. Lexi Carpenter tripled, and Kealy DeVirgilio had a 2-for-3 day at the plate.

 

The Spartans (4-10) host Lenox on Monday.

 

Hoosac Valley (14-0) is at Greenfield on Saturday.
