Franklin Tech Softball Tops Wahconah

DALTON, Mass. – Hannah Gilbert went 3-for-4 with a triple at the plate and struck out 13 in the circle Monday to lead the Franklin Tech softball team to a 12-4 win over Wahconah.
 
“Franklin Tech is a good team,” Wahconah coach Dustin Belcher said. “They capitalized on our mistakes. We need to get back to work tomorrow and clean up our mistakes on defense. It’s a quick turnaround and we need to be ready to play Wednesday and Thursday.”
 
Elena Ioveino went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Dani Barry doubled in a run for Wahconah.
 
Sammie Kaley struck out seven and allowed six earned runs in the loss in the circle.
 
Wahconah (0-1) hosts Northampton on Wednesday.
