'Team Win' for Wahconah Against Taconic

DALTON, Mass. – Wahconah’s Kenadi Arnhold and Edrie Collins hit back-to-back triples in a six-run fifth inning as Wahconah went on to an 11-2 win over Taconic.
 
Elena Iovieno went 2-for-3 and scored three times, and Marah Barnes was 2-for-4 in a 10-hit Wahconah attack.
 
“The kids played really well,” Wahconah coach Dustin Belcher said. “Sammie [Kaley] was excellent in the circle and we had eight different players get a hit. It was a great team win.”
 
Kaley struck out 11 and walked just two while allowing one earned run in the complete-game win.
 
Taconic pitcher Chey Goddard struck out four and allowed just three earned runs to take the loss.
 
Jianna Gilmore-Kruger hit an RBI double, and Maddie Harrington had a base hit for the Thunder.
 
Taconic (1-1) hosts Frontier on Tuesday.
 
Wahconah (2-1) hosts Greenfield on Tuesday.
