Kaley Goes for Cycle as Wahconah Advances
DALTON, Mass. – Sammie Kaley hit for cycle Monday to lead the Wahconah softball team to a 15-3 win over Belchertown in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class B Tournament.
Kaley got a home run in her first at-bat and a triple in her second trip to the plate. She then doubled in the third inning and singled in the fourth of the six-inning win, finishing 4-for-5 on the night.
Julia McComish went 3-for-5, and Sydney Payson, Marlee Arnhold, Mariah Barnes and Alliah DiPietro each had a pair of hits in a 17-hit attack for Wahconah.
McComish also went the distance in the circle, striking out four, walking none and allowing just one earned run.
Third-seeded Wahconah (16-3) travels to meet No. 2 Frontier in the regional semi-finals on a day to be announced.
