Koffi Walkoff Lifts Mounties Past Drury

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Malia Koffi singled to center field to drive in the winning run as the Mount Greylock softball team Friday rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh to earn an 18-17 win over Drury.
 
Koffi went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs as the Mounties snapped a five-game losing streak.
 
Drury scored three times in the top of the seventh to take a 17-13 lead.
 
Kylie Jaros then started the winning rally with a single to center field for the Mounties.
 
Madi Barber, Vayda Larabee and Lydia Gaudreau then singled before Larabee scored on a Mila Marcisz fielder’s choice to tie the game, 17-17.
 
Drury pitcher Michelle Wood got the next hitter to fly out to center field.
 
But Marcisz (4-for-5, four RBIs) stole second, moved to third on a pitch that got to the backstop and scored on Koffi’s third hit of the game.
 
Larabee went 3-for-5 with a double for the Mounties.
 
A.J. Pelkey, Barber and Jaros split time in the circle with Jaros earning the win with one and a third innings of work.
 
For Drury, Maddie Saunders went 4-for-6 with a pair of doubles, and Arianna Rivard was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Brooke Bishop was 3-for-4 with a home run and five RBIs.
 
Drury (4-4) hosts Monument Mountain on Saturday.
 
Mount Greylock (2-5) hosts Wahconah on Sunday.
