Dupont Lifts Spartans in Extra Innings

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Mya Dupont hit a two-out single in the bottom of the eighth Friday to drive in the winning run as the Monument Mountain softball team beat Westfield, 9-8.

 

Ember Raifstanger went 4-for-4 with a double and Lexi Carpenter was 2-for-4 with a triple in a 13-hit attack for the Spartans.

 

Andrea Paul went the distance in the circle to earn the win, striking out five and allowing five earned runs.

 

Monument Mountain (1-0) goes to Wahconah on Monday.
