Louw, Spartans Hold Off Lenox in Barnburner

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Rhianna Louw homered, drove in six runs and went the distance in the circle Tuesday as the Monument Mountain softball team outlasted Lenox for a 17-16 win.
 
Loux went 3-for-6 at the plate in a 20-hit Spartan attack. Takeiya Brown was 4-for-4, Aubrey Blanchard was 3-for-5, and Monument Mountain stole 20 bases.
 
In the circle, Louw struck out eight while allowing eight hits and eight earned runs in the complete-game win.
 
Louw got the last two outs in the top of the seventh with runners on first and second, inducing a popup to shortstop Aubrey Blanchard and a groundout to third baseman Abbie Wade.
 
Lenox got a 3-for-5 performance from Hailey Ano, who drove in three runs. Lexi Fletcher drove in four, and Maddie Barenski, Juliana Johansen and Alexia Morales each doubled.
 
Johansen struck out four and walked none in six innings of work in the circle.
 
Lenox (1-5) goes to Wahconah on Thursday.
 
Monument Mountain (4-3) has a rematch with Drury on Thursday in Great Barrington.
