WESTFIELD, Mass. – Jade Abderhalden went 4-for-4 with a triple and three runs batted in, and the Monument Mountain softball team played strong defense in an 11-8 win over St. Mary’s on Thursday.

“Avery Raifstanger made an incredible diving catch in left field, and Ember Raifstanger turned a double play to end the game,” Spartans coach Jamie Downer said. “The team demonstrated a high level of composure and was able to get out of innings with multiple runners on base.”

Ember Raifstanger and Alex Tenney each went 3-for-4 at the plate.

Meg Dupont struck out five in a complete-game win in the circle and helped her cause with two hits at the plate.

Monument Mountain (9-2) goes to Lenox on Monday.
