Groves Leads Pittsfield Softball Past Westfield

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Sophia Groves went 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs at the plate and threw three innings to earn the win in the circle on Saturday as the Pittsfield softball team beat Westfield, 12-0, in five innings.
 
Brianna Clary was 2-for-2 with a triple and a pair of RBIs, and the Generals got doubles from Mia Potash, Madison Tobin, Natasha Shade and Allyssa Mercier in a 15-hit attack.
 
Tess Lyon started in the circle but left after two innings of 1-hit ball, Groves allowed no hits and struck out one in her three innings of work.
 
Pittsfield (12-2) goes to Mount Greylock on Tuesday.
