Alfonso Has Monster Day as Pittsfield Routs Taconic

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Mia Alfonso went 5-for-5 with a pair of home runs Wednesday to lead the Pittsfield softball team to a 13-0, six-inning win over Taconic.
 
The Generals exploded for nine runs in the top of the sixth to put the game away for winning pitcher Jordyn Bazinet, who went the distance in the circle, allowing just two hits.
 
Mia Potash was 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles in a 15-hit Pittsfield attack.
 
Bella MacDonald and Chloe Wendling got Taconic's hits. Rylee Paronto and Anna Bongini split time in the circle in the loss.
 
Taconic (5-6) goes to Lenox on Thursday.
 
Pittsfield (8-4) visits the Millionaires on Monday.
