Bazinet Leads Pittsfield to Road Win in Opener

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Jordynn Bazinet went 3-for-4 with a home run, a pair of triples and three RBIs Monday to lead the Pittsfield High softball team to a season-opening 17-5 win over West Springfield.

 

Mia Alfonso went 2-for-4 with a double, and Nevaeh Lopez doubled and drove in three runs.

 

The Generals trailed, 4-2, going to the top of the second but scored three in the second and one in the third.

 

They put the game away with an eight-run sixth inning rally.

 

Bazinet struck out two and allowed two earned runs in a complete-game victory in the circle.

 

Pittsfield (1-0) hosts Minnechaug on Thursday.
