SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Joey Abderhalden scored 24 points Monday to lead the Lee boys basketball team to a 67-50, come-from-behind win over Veritas Charter.

Abderhalden scored 13 points in the third quarter, when the Wildcats outscored their hosts, 31-12, to erase a 28-25 half-time deficit.

“I’m really proud of the way our kids handled adversity tonight,” Lee coach Dan Korte said. “It seemed like nothing was going our way from the minute we walked in the gym. Then we fell down big in the first quarter, but we didn’t panic. We stayed the course and kept grinding to get a huge league win.”

Mason Lucy scored 12, and Noah Masten and John Brighenti added 10 and nine respectively. Jacob Cooper chipped in with eight points.

Lee (1-1) is at Libertas Charter on Thursday.
