Drury Routs Monument in Second Half, Qualifies for Western Mass

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Scott McGuire Jr. scored 32 points, and the the Drury boys basketball team outscored Monument Mountain, 40-21, in the second half to earn a 78-56 win on Wednesday night.
 
With its 10th win, Drury qualified for the Western Massachusetts Division 4 tournament with eight games left on its schedule.
 
McGuire had eight rebounds to go along with his game-high point total.
 
Reece Racette had a double-double with 25 points and 10 boards as the Blue Devils bounced back from a loss against Wahconah in their last outing.
 
Monument Mountain got 18 points from Connor Hanavan and 16 from Ty Higgins.
 
The Spartans (10-4) look to snap a three-game losing skid on Friday when they host Mount Everett.
 
On Friday, Drury (10-2) takes on rival Hoosac Valley in Cheshire.
