Sandifer, Taconic Boys Pick Up 10th Win

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Tayvon Sandifer scored 15 points, and the Taconic boys basketball team Thursday held off West Springfield’s fourth-quarter comeback bid to take a 54-49 road victory.
 
Sandifer scored 13 of his points in the fourth quarter, when West Side cut into a 35-24 Taconic lead.
 
Joseph Kosier scored eight of his team-high 13 in the fourth for the Terriers.
 
Maimoudou Bamba scored 14 for Taconic, which got six points apiece from Sean Harrigan, Makai Shepardson and Jayden McCartney.
 
Taconic (10-1) officially qualified for a chance to defend its 2020 state title with the win.
 
It takes a 10-game winning streak into Friday’s game at Amherst.
