Colonie, N.Y., Boys Basketball Clamps Down on Taconic

COLONIE, N.Y. – Julius Reed scored 13 points, and Cam Trimarchi added 10 Thursday to lead the Colonie boys basketball team to a 53-30 win over Taconic.
 
The game was decided in the second and fourth quarters.
 
In the second, Colonie outscored the Thunder, 17-6, to take a 32-20 lead into the locker room.
 
In the fourth, the hosts held Taconic scoreless, outscoring the visitors, 15-0, to build on an eight-point lead.
 
Christian Maturevich scored eight points to lead Taconic, which got six apiece from Kyle McGrath, Jamal Silstrunk and Ceasar Santos.
 
Taconic (4-2) goes to Chicopee Comprehensive on Friday.
