Amherst Boys Win at Taconic

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Mitchell Casey scored 27 points Friday to lead the Amherst boys basketball team to a 69-61 win over Taconic.
 
The Hurricanes clamped down defensively coming out of half-time, holding Taconic to two points in the third quarter, when Amherst outscored the Thunder, 20-2, to take a 46-38 lead.
 
Quincy King scored a game-high 30 points for Taconic, which got 12 points apiece from Evan Roccabruna and Charlie Driscoll.
 
Taconic (2-4) hosts Monument Mountain on Monday.
