Hurricanes Reach Class D Final

CHESHIRE, Mass. – Adan Wicks scored 20 points Friday to lead the Hoosac Valley boys basketball team to a 69-41 win over Hopkins Academy in the semi-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class D Tournament.
 
Blake Mazzeo (12 points) hit three of his four 3-pointers in the first quarter, when the Hurricanes jumped out to a 21-10 lead.
 
It was 33-17 at half-time after Jayden Tatro (nine points) drained two of his three triples.
 
Qwanell Bradley was the third Hurricane in double figures with 18 points as Hoosac Valley won its third straight game.
 
The top-seeded Hurricanes (12-8), who have won eight of their last 10, move on to next week’s regional final against Mount Everett, a 61-59 winner over Libertas Charter on Friday.
