Wicks Leads Hoosac Valley to Elite Eight, Date with Drury

CHESHIRE, Mass. – Adan Wicks scored 28 points on Wednesday to lead No. 8 Hoosac Valley to a 66-48 win over Ware in the Round of 16 of the Division 5 State Tournament.

 

Wicks accounted for four of the Hurricanes’ eight 3-pointers and scored 10 points in the fourth quarter, when Hoosac Valley outscored Ware, 21-8, to pull away for the win.

 

Blake Mazzeo scored 10 points in the win. Terrell Johnson scored nine and Qwanell Bradley added eight.

 

Hoosac Valley (15-8) takes a six-game winning streak into Saturday’s D5 quarter-final at top-seeded Drury, the last team to beat the Hurricanes, 65-56, back on Feb. 6.
