DALTON, Mass. – The Wahconah boys basketball team Monday made 19 of 21 free throws in the fourth quarter in a 65-55 come-from-behind win over Greenfield in the Western Massachusetts Class B quarter-finals.

Patrick McLaughlin went 13-of-21 at the line and scored 19 points in the fourth quarter as Wahconah outscored the Green Wave, 28-11, to overcome a seven-point deficit and earn a rematch with top-seeded Monument Mountain in the regional semi-finals.

“A great team win,” Wahconah coach Dustin Belcher said. “The kids played well. I’m proud of the way we battleed, especially in the fourth quarter being down seven points.”

Aidan Hagmaier was a perfect 8-for-8 at the line in the final eight minutes on his way to a 16 point night.

McLaughlin finished with 32 points to lead Wahconah’s offense.

Jack Ducharme scored eight points – six on two of Wahconah’s five 3-pointers.

Fourth-seeded Wahconah (9-10) travels to Great Barrington on Wednesday to face Monument Mountain.
