McAlister, Barnes Come Up Big for Mounties in Road Win

HATFIELD, Mass. – Seamus Barnes scored 16 points, and Max McAlister hit some big 3-pointers Monday to lead the Mount Greylock boys basketball team to a 39-31 win over Smith Academy.
 
McAlister had one of three 3s for the Mounties, when the visitors outscored Smith Academy, 11-5 to take a 17-12 lead.
 
After the hosts rallied to cut the margin to 27-25 going to the fourth, McAlister hit a pair of 3s, and Barnes scored six points from the field in the fourth quarter to put the game away.
 
Chase Doyle finished the night with seven points.
 
Mount Greylock (9-5) goes to Mohawk Trail on Thursday.
