Pittsfield's Big Three Lead Way Past Wahconah

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Nunu Brown, Malachi Perry and Makai Shepardson Thursday combined for 61 points to lead the Pittsfield boys basketball team to an 81-49 win over Wahconah.
 
Brown and Perry each scored 21 points, and Shepardson added 19 as the Generals won their seventh straight to finish the regular season.
 
Each scored over his standout season average. Brown leads Pittsfield with 15 points per game this winter. Perry and Shepardson each average nearly 15 ppg.
 
In Thursday’s regular season finale, Pittsfield took control in the second quarter, when Shepardson and Brown scored seven apiece and Pittsfield outscored Wahconah, 22-9, to take a 40-23 lead into the locker room.
 
Kyle Cardso scored nine points, and Pat Brennan added six in the win.
 
Pat McLaughlin scored a game-high 27 points to lead Wahconah, which got 11 from Jack DuCharme.
 
Pittsfield (13-5) and Wahconah (8-10) learn Friday who they face in the quarter-finals of next week’s Western Massachusetts Class B Tournament.
