Generals Edge Hoosac Valley
PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Bri’awn Thompson posted a double-double, and Noah Smalls hit a decisive 3-pointer late to lift the Pittsfield boys basketball team to a 60-57 win over Hoosac Valley.
Thompson scored a game-high 22 points and pulled down 15 rebounds while distributing six assists.
Quincy Abellie also had a double-double, scoring 19 with 11 boards.
Pittsfield jumped on top early with an 18-13 first quarter and led by four at half-time, but Hoosac Valley rallied to take a 44-40 lead going to the fourth quarter.
Craig Field scored six of his 11 points in the third quarter comeback.
“Hoosac eventually took a six-point lead in the fourth quarter until PHS rallied and took the lead with a 3 by Noah Kane-Smalls,” Pittsfield coach Jerome Edgerton said.
Adan Wicks scored 17 points to lead the Hurricanes. Qwanell Bradley scored 14, and Blake Mazzeo added 10.
Smalls finished with 10 points for the Generals (4-2) who take on Taconic on Thursday at the Boys and Girls Club.
Hoosac Valley (4-3) is at Drury on Thursday.
