Brown, Puleri Lead Lee Girls Past Monument Mountain

LEE, Mass. -- Carina Brown scored eight of her game-high 18 points in the fourth quarter Thursday as the Lee girls basketball team pulled away for a 66-62 win over Monument Mountain.
 
Brown and Lydia Simone (eight points) combined to go 4-for-4 at the foul line and the Wildcats outscored the Spartans, 18-14, over the final eight minutes to earn the win.
 
Emma Puleri matched Brown with 18 points; Puleri scored half her points on three 3-pointers.
 
Caroline Maloney and Lena Simone pitched in with nine and six points, respectively, in the win.
 
Monument’s Meri Powell tied for game-high honors with 18 points, and Destiny Brown added 12 in the loss.
 
The Spartans (3-2) are home next Thursday against Bay State Academy.
 
Lee (3-2) goes to McCann Tech on Wednesday.
