LEE, Mass. – Alyssa Russell and Morgan Sarkis each scored 11 points Wednesday to lead the Drury girls basketball team to a 54-26 win over Lee.

Jacinta Felix scored 10,and Lauren Davis and Megan McGrath each had six for the Blue Devils, who jumped out to a 14-3 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

“Drury came out and jumped on us early,” Lee coach Rick Puleri said. “We had too many turnovers to cut into their lead. Credit to them they are well coached and they played well.”

Ava Lucy and Taylor Salice scored seven points apiece to lead the Wildcats.

Drury coach Ian Downey said he was happy to once again get all his players minutes.

“I thought our starters did a great job setting the tempo early with our defense,” Downey said. “We got in passing lanes and that led to some fast break opportunities, which you need when you play on the road.”

Drury knows something about playing on the road. Seven of its first nine games have been away from North Adams.

That trend continues Friday when the Blue Devils (5-4) visit Taconic.

The good news is that after that game, six of its last eight games are at home, including the last four.

Lee (2-8) looks to get back in the win column on Friday when it hosts Renaissance.
