NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Jacinta Felix scored 12 points, and Norah Wood added 10 Monday to lead the Drury girls basketball team to a 38-35 win over Belchertown.

Brooke Bishop scored just four points, but all four came in the fourth quarter, when the Blue Devils outscored the Orioles, 5-3, to hold on for the win.

“What a battle,” Drury coach Ian Downey said. “Couldn’t be prouder of my girls tonight. A few weeks back we lost a close game to Wahconah. My message after that game was that I knew we would win a game because of that game. That game was tonight.

“Although points were tough to come by in the second half, I thought the way our girls remained composed and played defense at the end of the game was awesome to see.”

Elise Daly scored five points in the victory.

Drury (6-5) goes to Pope Francis on Thursday.
