NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Isabella Meadows Monday scored 16 points to lead the Pope Francis girls basketball team to a 43-30 win over Drury.

Ashlyn Hayden scored 11 points for the Blue Devils, who took their third straight loss but gained valuable experience against the Division 3 Cardinals (10-4).

“Energy, effort and defense tonight was phenomenal,” Drury coach Ian Downey said. “We just didn’t make enough baskets that you would normally expect to make in your home gym. It happens.

“We can’t let a loss like this affect us because we have now played three really good teams in a row, and it’s going to help us in the long run.”

Delaney Hayden scored six points, and Norah Wood added five in the loss.

Drury (6-9) goes to Belchertown on Wednesday to face an Orioles team that lost by three points when the teams met in North Adams on Jan. 22.
