McCann Tech Moves to 5-0

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Faith Brazeau Thursday scored 13 points to lead the McCann Tech girls basketball team to a 39-16 win over Gateway.

 

Mackenzie Miranda-Ruiz and Aiden Champney each scored six, and Champney had a strong night on the boards, according to coach Justin Kratz.

 

“Both Aiden and Faith brought a lot of energy on the defensive end of the floor which helped set the tone for the night,” Kratz said. “Our offense is improving each night but we still have some cold shooting spells so I love the fact that the entire team has bought into having a defensive identity. They all work hard on the defensive end of the floor which helps us weather any cold shooting spells we might run into.”

 

The Hornets held the Gators scoreless in the third quarter of Thursday’s win.

 

McCann Tech (5-0) hosts Hampden Charter on Monday in a rematch of the game the Hornets won, 35-24, on the road in the season opener.
